Standups
Standups are little cardboard standups you can use instead of metal figures to keep track of where everyone is. This is a print & play game, so we give you everything you need. Or you can use a little metal figurine. Most standups fold along the short edge to give you both sides. Some fold along the long edge. They stand up on their own OK, but work better with stands. Stands are available in the Internet and are called "game card stands".
Note that some standups have a front and a back. Others have two side-views. On the side views, one of the sides counts as the "front".
Space Ships
The space ships that come with this game are printed on cardboard and lay flat on a hexagon battlemat. Or you can use metal or plastic miniatures. These are single sided, they don't fold to stand up like standups. They lay flat.
Printing
Cardboard stand-ups & space ships are best printed on 80-pound bond at a copy shop. You can do them yourself on a rear-feeding inkjet or laser printer. They will work well enough using whatever you have.
